The Big Give Christmas Challenge 2022
A huge thank you to all supporters who helped us reach our goal during the campaign. We surpassed our target and raised a whopping £8,165!
The Big Give campaign ran from 29 November to 6 December 2022 and during this time donations were doubled by our generous backers. Read about our campaign goals below.
We managed to raise over £8,000 to lay the groundwork for our next foster family
During the campaign, all donations made up to £4,000 were doubled. Thanks to the amazing generosity of our supporters, we reached our goal and were able to raise more than £8,000 in one week! This was a new milestone for our charity and it vastly increases the impact we can have on vulnerable children in Maputo, enabling us to take our essential work to the next stage.
The Tutela team are ready to extend the family-based care for abandoned children, so the funds raised will lay the ground work to launch new foster carers into their roles as parents to five or six children who were orphaned or abandoned. The funds will allow us to:
Recruit new foster carers for our next foster family
Secure the right location for the next foster family's residence and fully furnish this residence with everything needed to provide a loving home for up to six children
Investigate, identify and place the six vulnerable with new foster carers
Provide tailored support and education to each child in the new foster family for the first three months of their placement. This includes intervention from a Social Worker and individual tutoring to recover lost learning.
How it works:
The Big Give Campaign goes live at 12 noon on Tuesday 29th November and will expire at 12 noon on Tuesday 6th December.
For your gift to be doubled, please only donate after the campaign launch and before the end of the campaign.
Click on the above Donate button, and follow instructions - enter your donation amount, contact details and payment details. You will need to set up a password and receive a confirmation email receipt.
There will be a 15 minute time limit to complete your donation to ensure that funds can be matched for Tutela (and doubled).
