December 2020 - Big Day at the Zoo

  • A day to remember - 18 of us altogether. Alquerida and her six children plus their friends and a few more additions…

  • A long ride in the minibus, escaping the bustle of Maputo and heading up into the hills of Namaacha.

  • It was a hot day! The warm sun glowed as we sauntered slowly from one exhibit to another.

  • It was the first time any of the kids (and indeed grown-ups) had seen lions.

  • The resident giraffe was rather tame and roamed freely on the grounds

  • And the resident camel was also an inquisitive creature.

  • Lunchtime …

  • After lunch, the kids were keen to get another glimpse of their new long-necked friend

  • Rock climbing at the Namaacha waterfalls (dried out) before the long trek back to Maputo. A fab day to live in our memories.
